UK ratings: UMP Movies edges closer to Star Plus

UMP Movies has edged closer to the top position in latest UK ratings supplied by BARB for week ending Sunday 3rd May.

According to official weekly reach data, UMP Movies was just 89,000 behind the market leader, Star Plus. UMP Movies attracted a reach of 919,000 viewers (last week 661,000 viewers), while Star Plus delivered a reach of 1,008,000 viewers (last week 855,000 viewers) and Colors in third with 635,000 viewers (last week 619,000 viewers). Hum TV was in fourth with 566,000 viewers (last week 538,000 viewers) and Zing in fifth with 539,000 viewers (last week 592,000 viewers).

The next tier consisted of Rishtey with 529,000 viewers, followed by Star Gold with 484,000 viewers, &TV with 468,000 viewers, SAB TV with 374,000 viewers and Life Ok with 344,000 viewers.

The bottom tier was led by Prime TV with 238,000 viewers, DM Global with 184,000 viewers, Venus TV with 181,000 viewers, PTC Punjabi with 180,000 viewers, Brit Asia TV with 170,000 viewers, Geo TV with 163,000 viewers and Sikh Channel with 129,000 viewers.

ARY News remained the dominant player in the South Asian news genre with 505,000 viewers (last week 347,000 viewers), followed by Geo News with 266,000 viewers (last week 269,000 viewers) and Aaj Tak with 225,000 viewers (last week 166,000 viewers). The next lot consisted of ABP News with 221,000 viewers, NDTV 24×7 with 213,000 viewers, Geo Tez with 186,000 viewers, Samaa TV with 159,000 viewers and News18 India with 83,000 viewers.
