The popular Bollywood channel, UMP Movies saw sharp drop in its weekly reach in the latest round of UK Asian TV ratings.
According to official data from BARB for week ending Sunday 21st September, UMP Movies lost 230,000 viewers from 691,000 viewers to 461,000 viewers. Its the first time in months the channel has fallen below the 500,000 reach mark. Similarly, last week Star Plus fell to 825,000 viewers but it made a reprieve this week by climbing back to 913,000 viewers. Colors continued to strengthen its position in second on the back of the launch of ‘Bigg Boss 8’ with 746,000 viewers. Rishtey moved back up to third with 689,000 viewers (last week 665,000) and Star Gold with 491,000 viewers (last week 381,000).
The others in the pecking order were Sony SAB TV (487,000), Zing (472,000), UMP Movies (461,000), Star Life Ok (409,000), Hum TV Europe (391,000), Lamhe (354,000), PTV Global (147,000) and PTC Punjabi (124,000).
ARY News continued to lead the news genre in the UK with an impressive 547,000 viewers (last week 421,000), followed by Aaj Tak with 278,000 viewers, Geo News with 251,000 viewers, SAMAA TV with 227,000, NDTV 24×7 with 208,000 viewers, Geo Tez with 202,000 viewers, ABP News with 179,000 viewers and News18 India with 63,000 viewers.
