UK ratings: &TV jumps ahead of Zing

The newly launched &TV has for the first time jumped ahead of its sister channel, Zing.

The channel had a weekly reach of 569,000 viewers (last week 440,000 viewers), while Zing delivered 521,000 viewers (last week 570,000 viewers). This is &TV’s biggest reach rating since its inception in the UK market in April. It hopes to grow further in weeks to with the launch of reality show ‘The Voice India’. The movie ‘Holiday’ on &TV, which was aired on Sunday 24th May at 18:00 was the biggest success with 57,000 viewers.

The most watched Asian channel in the UK remained Star Plus with 994,000 viewers (last week 954,000 viewers), followed by Colors with 740,000 viewers (last week 798,000 viewers) and UMP Movies in third with 712,000 viewers (last week 738,000 viewers). In fourth place was Rishtey with 594,000 viewers (last week 636,000 viewers) and Hum TV in fifth with 584,000 viewers (last week 503,000 viewers).

The next tier was led by &TV with 569,000 viewers, Zing with 521,000 viewers, SAB TV with 496,000 viewers, Star Gold with 417,000 viewers and Life Ok with 394,000 viewers.

The bottom tier consisted of Geo TV and Sikh Channel with 241,000 viewers, Prime TV with 179,000 viewers, Brit Asia TV with 170,000 viewers, DM Global with 140,000 viewers, PTV Global with 102,000 viewers and Venus TV with 86,000 viewers.

ARY News remained the most watched South Asian news channel in the UK with 459,000 viewers, followed by Geo News with 264,000 viewers, SAMAA TV with 263,000 viewers and ABP News with 230,000 viewers. NDTV 24×7 with 204,000 viewers, Geo Tez with 197,000 viewers, Aaj Tak with 194,000 viewers and News18 India with 49,000 viewers.
