UK ratings: &TV inches closer to No.1 spot

In a dramatic round of UK Asian TV ratings, Star Plus dropped to an all-time low and &TV got closer to the number one position.

According to official weekly reach data for week ending Sunday 19th July, Star Plus slipped to a reach of 739,000 viewers (last week 858,000 viewers), followed by &TV with its best ever figures since it launched in April. The channel recorded a record reach of 721,000 viewers (last week 500,000). It was just 18,000 viewers away from toppling Star Plus from pole position. Rishtey was in third with 716,000 viewers (last week 657,000 viewers). Colors was in fourth place with 703,000 (last week 610,000 viewers) and Hum TV with 573,000 viewers (last week 531,000 viewers).

The next tier saw UMP Movies with 572,000 viewers, SAB TV with 456,000 viewers, Zing with 451,000 viewers, Star Gold with 381,000 viewers, Geo TV with 336,000 viewers and Life Ok with 326,000 viewers.

The bottom tier consisted of PTC Punjabi with 277,000 viewers, Venus TV with 240,000 viewers, PTV Global with 251,000 viewers, Brit Asia TV with 209,000 viewers, Sikh Channel with 208,000 viewers, DM Global with 161,000 viewers, Prime TV with 127,000 viewers and Akaal Channel with 68,000 viewers.

In terms of news channels, ARY News was the most watched South Asian news channel with 427,000 viewers (last week 416,000 viewers), followed by Geo News with 304,000 viewers, Geo Tez with 213,000 viewers, Samaa TV with 207,000 viewers, NDTV 24×7 with 148,000 viewers, ABP News with 120,000 viewers, Dunya TV with 117,000 viewers, Aaj Tak with 85,000 viewers and News18 India with 69,000 viewers.
