UK ratings: Star Plus & Rishtey stay above rest

Star Plus stayed miles ahead of its second placed rival, Rishtey but the two together dominated latest UK ratings for week ending Sunday 22nd November.

According to official data from BARB, Star Plus remained the preferred choice amongst UK Asian television channels with a reach of 1,005,000 (last week 998,000 viewers), followed by Rishtey with 747,000 viewers (last week 780,000 viewers) and UMP Movies in third with 715,000 viewers (last week 652,000 viewers). Zing in fourth place lost around 100,000 viewers since last week with 654,000 viewers (last week 761,000 viewers) and Colors with 645,000 viewers (last week 698,000 viewers).

The next batch consisted of Colors with 645,000 viewers, followed by &TV with 609,000 viewers, Hum TV with 592,000 viewers, Star Gold with 556,000 viewers, SAB TV with 374,000 viewers, Life Ok with 361,000 viewers and Geo TV with 327,000 viewers.

The bottom tier consisted of Venus TV with 304,000 viewers, PTC Punjabi with 253,000 viewers, Prime TV with 225,000 viewers, DM Global with 214,000 viewers, Brit Asia TV with 181,000 viewers, PTV Global with 168,000 viewers, Sikh Channel with 156,000 viewers, TV99 with 151,000 viewers and Akaal Channel with 84,000 viewers.

On the news genre front, ARY News remained the most watched South Asian news channel with 493,000 viewers (last week 473,000 viewers), followed by Geo News with 349,000 viewers, Samaa TV with 238,000 viewers and Geo Tez with 224,000 viewers. The next tier consisted of NDTV 24×7 with 206,000 viewers, Aaj Tak with 171,000 viewers, Dunya TV with 167,000 viewers, ABP News with 160,000 viewers and News18 India with 54,000 viewers.
