The latest round of official viewing data supplied by BARB sees Star Network’s second Hindi entertainment channel, Star Life Ok, slip – losing around 162,000 viewers compared to data for its debut week on BARB. Its weekly reach currently stands at 367,000, according to week ending 10th June.

The reason for the sudden drop in viewership isn’t known but this week saw British viewers switch to mainstream channels for coverage of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations. However, there was good news for its flagship channel, which was up from last week. Star Plus topped the chart with a weekly reach of 1,184.

UMP Movies was the second most channel with a weekly reach of 875,000 – down from a record breaking 966,000 last week.

Star Gold was in third with 683,000 – up from last week’s reach of 561,000. The soon to close-down, Imagine Dil Se was doing well in fourth despite its re-run shows. Its weekly reach stood at 614,000, that’s an addition 10,000 viewers watching since last week.

Surprisingly, its ARY News, which is doing incredibly well even beating Al Jazeera English in the ratings. The free-to-air Pakistani channel delivered a weekly reach of 593,000 – up from 556,000 last week. Al Jazeera English was in sixth with 539,000.

ZEE’s Zing channel continues to remain above the half a million mark in weekly reach. The music and lifestyle channel reached 538,000 – up from 510,000 last week.

Sunrise TV was up slightly to 482,000.

Sony SAB TV was one of the biggest risers this week – adding 28,000 new viewers this week with a weekly reach of 239,000 (last week 211,000).
