UK ratings: Star Life Ok & ARY News impress

Star Life Ok and Sony SAB TV impressed in the latest round of UK Asian TV ratings, while ARY News passed the half a million mark.

According to official data obtained by BARB, Star Plus remained the market leader in the UK Asian TV ratings with 1,090,000 viewers, followed by UMP Movies (729,000). Star Life Ok recorded the best ever figures on the back the Asia Cup 2014 cricket tournament. The channel raked in a record high 714,000 weekly reach. Rishtey was in fourth with 712,000 viewers. Sony SAB TV’s Yash Raj Films special movies line-up during this week did very well too with 657,000 viewers.

The next tier consisted of Colors with 678,000 viewers and Zing with 620,000 viewers. Lamhe delivered a weekly reach of 496,000 viewers, followed by Star Gold with 450,000 viewers.

ARY News led the South Asian news genre with one of the best ever weekly reach figures – it pulled in 513,000 viewers, followed by Geo News with 381,000 viewers and SAMAA TV was next with 202,000 viewers. Aaj Tak with 182,000 viewers, NDTV 24×7 with 162,000 viewers, ABP News with 152,000 viewers and News18 India slumped to its lowest ever ratings with just 23,000 viewers tuning in this week.
