Recently UMP Movies seems to be losing its grip as the most watched Hindi film channel in the UK after latest data indicated that Star Gold has beaten the newcomer in the ratings.

UMP Movies, which has done tremendously well in the UK since its launch last year, has fast become the second most watched Asian channel in the UK after Star Plus. However, over the past few weeks, UMP Movies grip at the top has loosened. According to data for week ending Sunday 7th October, UMP Movies had a weekly reach of 626,000, with Star Gold slightly ahead with 663,000.

Star Plus remained the market leader with 1,178,000. Star Life Ok also maintained its hold in the market with 464,000. Zing was up this week with a weekly reach of 457,00 – mainly down to the launch of new shows.

Sahara One was in the bottom tier with 265,000, meanwhile Sunrise TV was next with 246,000. UMP Stars was not too far behind with 244,000. Sony SAB TV was in last with 183,000.
