UK ratings: SAMAA TV makes impressive start

Pakistani news channel, SAMAA TV has made a decent start in the UK ratings, according to the first batch of official data for the channel supplied by BARB.

While, Al Jazeera English stayed on top amongst Asian news channels in the UK with 882,000 viewers, ARY News was in second with 443,000, Geo News in third with 365,000 viewers, SAMAA TV managed to sit firm in fourth with 253,000 viewers. Aaj Tak was in fifth with 250,000, NDTV 24×7 in sixth with 183,000 viewers and News18 India with 51,000 viewers.

Star Plus was the most watched Asian TV channel in the UK with 1,191,000 viewers, followed by UMP Movies with 870,000 viewers and Rishtey was in third with 855,000 viewers. Colors was back in fourth with 710,000 viewers and Star Gold next with 591,000 viewers. Lamhe was next with 586,000 viewers, followed by Zing and Sony SAB TV with 578,000 viewers and Star Life Ok with 571,000 viewers.
