The recently turned free-to-air Hindi entertainment channel, Sahara One has started off well, according to official UK audience ratings agency, BARB.
Data for week ending Sunday 22nd July sees the channel with a weekly reach of 243,000. More than UMP Stars, which is finding it a struggle to make a mark in the ratings. The channel is limping with 170,000 – most probably due to its high repeat content. Sunrise TV was just slightly ahead of Sahara One with 277,000.
Sahara One has recently left the premium VIEWASIA package to run as an independent free-service.
Star Plus continues to rule the chart with a weekly reach of 1,263 – a total combined with Star Plus HD. UMP Movies is in second place with 846,000, meanwhile Star Gold was placed in third with 564,000. ARY News continued its good-run with 528,000. Al Jazeera English was next in the pecking order with 487,000.
Zing remains the most watched Asian music and lifestyle channel with 463,000, followed by Star TV’s second entertainment channel Life Ok with 461,000.
