UK ratings: SAB & Zing edge closer to 600k reach

SAB TV and Zing proved a success in latest weekly reach data supplied by BARB for week ending Sunday 8th February 2015.

SAB TV increased its reach by 144,000 new viewers to 551,000 viewers (last week 407,000) – the best reach for the channel for this year so far. Zing, however, was slightly ahead with 565,000 viewers (last week 490,000). The recent schedule changes made by the broadcaster seem to have connected well with viewers.

Market leader Star Plus thrashed all opposition with 1,224,000 viewers (last week 1,089,000) – one of the best figures ever delivered by the channel. UMP Movies reclaimed second place with 672,000 viewers (last week 731,000), followed by Colors with 636,000 viewers (last week 755,000) and Rishtey next with 618,000 viewers (last week 692,000). Zing and SAB TV came next in the pecking order.

The next tier consisted of Star Gold with 535,000 viewers (last week 487,000), Life Ok with 469,000 viewers (last week 384,000) and Hum TV with 470,000 viewers (last week 586,000).

The bottom tier saw the likes of DM Global with 307,000 viewers, PTC Punjabi with 306,000 viewers, PTV Global with 281,000 viewers, Prime TV with 280,000 viewers, Geo TV with 259,000 viewers, Brit Asia TV with 211,000 viewers and Sikh Channel with 163,000 viewers.

ARY News remained top but suffered a loss of 138,000 viewers. Its total reach this week stood at 417,000 viewers (last week 555,000), followed by Geo Tez with 282,000 viewers, Aaj Tak with 271,000 viewers, SAMAA TV with 266,000 viewers, Geo News with 262,000 viewers, NDTV 24×7 with 230,000 viewers, ABP News with 211,000 viewers and News18 India with 116,000 viewers.
