Rishtey, which remains the UK’s second most watched General Hindi Entertainment channel has fallen behind Star Gold in the overall UK Asian TV ratings.
According to official data from BARB for week ending Sunday 31st March, Star Gold drew a weekly reach of 710,000 – edging out Rishtey, which could only manage 677,000. ‘Dabangg 2’, which premiered on Star Gold on Sunday 31st March was the biggest crowd puller delivering 170,000 viewers.
Star Plus continued to lead the pack with a weekly reach of 1,143,000, mainly thanks to shows like ‘MasterChef India’, ‘SaraswatiChandra’ and ‘Diya Aur Baati Hum’ regularly attracting over 250,000 each during this period.
In second place was UMP Movies with 818,000, followed by Star Gold and then Rishtey.
Star Life Ok was in sixth with 549,000, Zing next with 440,000 and Sony SAB TV next with 392,000, followed by Sahara One with 182,000 and 9XM at the bottom with 198,000 viewers.
Al Jazeera English was top amongst the Asian news channels in UK with 794,000, followed by ARY News with 418,000 and Aaj Tak slightly down to 297,000.
