UK Ratings: A Plus witnesses big drop post PSL 2017

Popular Pakistani entertainment channel, A Plus Europe dropped drastically post the end of Pakistan Super League (PSL) on Sunday, according to exclusive data obtained by BizAsiaLive.com .

The channel has only been measured by BARB in the UK for a couple of weeks and while the first week’s reach was around the 50,000 mark, its second week reach jumped comfortably over the 100,000 mark. However, now that the PSL 2017 has bid adieu, ratings for A Plus Europe will no doubt concern the broadcaster. The channel has dropped drastically with overnight ratings for Monday and Tuesday this week registering practically zero. Data obtained by BizAsiaLive.com shows Monday and Tuesday all-day ratings displaying “zero” bar one or two time slots.

The channel launched in January in the UK and it was quickly registered to BARB mainly due to the PSL 2017 series. While, the ratings for the channel were decent during the tournament, it has failed to retain those viewers for its other shows. With fierce competition looming from rival Pakistani channels in the coming weeks, A Plus Europe will need to brace itself with a huge marketing boost.

Other channels that showed the PSL 2017 series including Prime TV, UK 44 and Geo TV, will also witness a decline in viewership. However, A Plus Europe ratings seem to be the most noticeable due to “zero” numbers.
