UK ratings: Life Ok steams ahead of rivals

Backed with a new programming strategy and a marketing push, Star TV’s second entertainment channel, Life Ok has touched new heights in the UK.

The channel, which has been climbing up the charts over the past few weeks, has surpassed the likes of Zing, SAB TV and Hum TV Europe in the latest round of UK ratings from BARB for week ending Sunday 2nd November.

Star Plus remained the most watched Hindi entertainment channel with a weekly reach of 1,113,000 viewers (last week 1,221,000 viewers), followed by UMP Movies with 753,000 viewers (751,000 viewers) and Rishtey in third with 718,000 viewers (672,000 viewers).

The next tier consisted of Colors in fourth with 714,000 viewers (719,000 viewers), followed by a resurgent Lamhe with 580,000 viewers (last week 367,000 viewers) and an impressive Life Ok closely behind with 580,000 viewers (last week 522,000 viewers). Zing was next with 536,000 viewers (last week 646,000 viewers) and then SAB TV with 514,000 viewers (last week 413,000 viewers).

The bottom tier included Hum TV Europe with 376,000 viewers (last week 356,000 viewers), followed by PTC Punjabi with 179,000 viewers and PTV Global with 125,000 viewers.

ARY News continued to dominate the South Asian news channels in the UK with 518,000 viewers (last week 501,000 viewers), followed by Geo News with 234,000 viewers (last week 253,000 viewers), SAMAA TV with 213,000 viewers (last week 243,000 viewers), NDTV 24×7 with 204,000 viewers (last week 188,000 viewers), Aaj Tak with 172,000 viewers, Geo Tez with 171,000 viewers, ABP News with 110,000 viewers and News 18 India with 109,000 viewers.
