UK ratings: Hum TV takes No.2 position

A resurgent Hum TV has got its best weekly reach data in latest official figures released by BARB today.

According to weekly reach for Sunday 27th September, Hum TV comfortably ahead of its rivals – only to be beaten by Star Plus, which remained the UK’s most watched Asian channel. It had a weekly reach of 985,000 viewers (last week 927,000 viewers). ‘Yeh Hai Mohabbatein’ was top show with 193,000 viewers on Wednesday of that week. The popular Pakistani channel, Hum TV registered a reach of 648,000 viewers (last week 489,000 viewers). The third big player of the week was Rishtey with 613,000 viewers (last week 631,000 viewers). This was followed by SAB TV with 528,000 viewers (last week 293,000 viewers) and Star Gold with 526,000 viewers (last week 537,000 viewers).

The next tier consisted of Zing with 519,000 viewers, Colors with 476,000 viewers, &TV slipping to 473,000 viewers (from 540,000 viewers), Life Ok with 423,000 viewers and Geo TV with 299,000 viewers.

The bottom tier consisted of Prime TV with 260,000 viewers, PTC Punjabi with 236,000 viewers, DM Global with 228,000 viewers, Venus TV with 156,000 viewers, PTV Global with 147,000 viewers, Sikh Channel with 146,000 viewers, Brit Asia TV with 121,000 viewers, TV99 with 104,000 viewers and Akaal Channel with 94,000 viewers.

ARY News remained the most watched South Asian news channel in the UK with 498,000 viewers (last week 420,000 viewers), followed by Geo News with 339,000 viewers, Dunya TV with 246,000 viewers, NDTV 24×7 with 237,000 viewers, SAMAA TV with 208,000 viewers, Aaj Tak with 197,000 viewers, Geo Tez with 192,000 viewers, ABP News with 175,000 viewers and News18 India with 61,000 viewers.
