UK ratings: Hum TV inches closer to 600k reach

Consolidating its position as the UK’s most watched Pakistani channel, Hum TV Europe continues to jump leaps and bounds in official BARB ratings.

According to data for week ending Sunday 1st February, the popular Pakistani entertainment channel delivered 586,000 viewers (up from 476,000 last week). Other entertainment Pakistani channels in the sector remained distant with Prime TV attracting a reach of 284,000 viewers (last week 288,000 viewers) and Geo TV with 223,000 viewers (last week 177,000 viewers).

Star Plus maintained lead overall with a reach of 1,089,000 viewers (last week 1,066,000 viewers), followed by Colors with 755,000 viewers (last week 765,000 viewers) and UMP Movies with 731,000 viewers (last week 797,000 viewers). Rishtey was in fourth with 692,000 viewers (last week 709,000 viewers).

The next tier witnessed the likes of Zing with 490,000 viewers, Star Gold with 487,000 viewers, SAB TV with 407,000 viewers and Life Ok with 384,000 viewers.

The bottom tier consisted of Lamhe with 338,000 viewers, DM Global with 309,000 viewers, PTC Punjabi with 305,000 viewers, PTV Global with 206,000 viewers, Brit Asia TV with 163,000 viewers and The Sikh Channel with 119,000 viewers.

ARY News dominated the news genre with 555,000 viewers (last week 492,000 viewers), followed by Geo News with 368,000 viewers and SAMAA TV and Geo Tez joint next with 246,000 viewers. Indian news channel, Aaj Tak was next with 215,000 viewers, ABP News with 179,000 viewers, NDTV 24×7 with 159,000 viewers and News18 India with 68,000 viewers.
