UK ratings: Hum Europe surpasses Sony SAB TV

Hum Europe made a decent start in the UK Asian TV ratings in official data supplied by BARB for week ending Sunday 20th July.

While Sony SAB TV plunged to one of the lowest weekly reaches in over 18 months, Pakistani broadcaster Hum Europe took advantage of that and recorded a reach of 249,000 viewers. Sony SAB TV meanwhile could only manage to 200,000 viewers.

Star Plus remained the market leader but also slipped to 976,000 viewers (down from 1,050,000), Colors was in second with 559,000 viewers (down from 601,000 viewers) and Rishtey in third with 527,000 viewers (down from 544,000 viewers).

The next tier saw Zing in fourth place with 455,000 viewers (down from 452,000 viewers), UMP Movies with 431,000 viewers (down from 452,000 viewers), Star Gold with 347,000 viewers (down from 360,000 viewers), Star Life Ok with 316,000 viewers (up from 309,000 viewers), Lamhe with 313,000 viewers (up from 299,000 viewers).

The bottom tier saw Hum Europe, Sony SAB TV and PTV Global (182,000) round-off the UK Asian entertainment channels.

The news genres saw ARY News continue the lead with 430,000 viewers, followed by Geo News with 218,000 viewers and Aaj Tak with 134,000 viewers. The next part saw NDTV 24×7 with 128,000 viewers, ABP News with 111,000 viewers, SAMAA TV with 106,000 viewers and News18 India with 53,000 viewers.
