Geo TV has overtaken rival, Prime TV for the first time in UK ratings, according to official data released by BARB for week ending Sunday 5th April.
Star Plus remained the biggest player with a reach of 1,034,000 (last week 1,094,000 viewers), followed by UMP Movies, which returned to number two with a reach of 676,000 viewers (last week 729,000 viewers) and Colors in third with 597,000 viewers (last week 628,000 viewers). In fourth place was Zing with 593,000 viewers (last week 776,000 viewers) and Rishtey with 565,000 viewers (last week 510,000 viewers) rounding off the top five.
The next tier was led by Hum TV, which remained the most watched Urdu entertainment channel with 479,000 viewers, followed by Star Gold with 408,000 viewers, Lamhe with 378,000 viewers SAB TV with 365,000 viewers and Life Ok with 331,000 viewers.
The bottom tier consisted of DM Global with 297,000 viewers, followed by a resurgent Geo TV with its best reach so far with 257,000 viewers and Prime TV next with 220,000 viewers. PTV Global next with 178,000 viewers, followed by PTC Punjabi with 171,000 viewers, Sikh Channel with 155,000 viewers, Venus TV with 145,000 viewers and Brit Asia TV with just 82,000 viewers.
ARY News stayed the market leading South Asian news channel with 547,000 viewers (last week 467,000 viewers), followed by Geo News with 275,000 viewers and Samaa TV with 257,000 viewers. Aaj Tak was next with 239,000 viewers, NDTV 24×7 with 188,000 viewers, Geo Tez with 169,000 viewers, ABP News with 145,000 viewers and News18 India with 112,000 viewers.
