UK ratings: Geo News takes lead; Rishtey remains low

Geo News got its biggest weekly reach data since ARY News left the UK market in April, according to official data for week ending Sunday 26th March from BARB.

Looking firstly at the South Asian news genre in the UK, Geo News scored 349,000 viewers – an increase from 205,000 viewers last week. Samaa TV was placed in second with 245,000 viewers, followed by Dunya News with 239,000 viewers, NDTV 24×7 with 212,000 viewers, Geo Tez with 179,000 viewers and Channel 44 got its biggest ever ratings with 173,000 viewers. Aaj Tak was next with 146,000 viewers, followed by ABP News with 104,000 viewers, Times Now with 38,000 viewers and News18 with just 14,000 viewers.

Star Plus remained the most dominant South Asian channel in UK ratings with 905,000 viewers, followed by &TV with 502,000 viewers, Star Gold with 469,000 viewers, Colors with 447,000 viewers, Hum TV with 369,000 viewers, Zing with 368,000 viewers Life OK with 348,000 viewers, Rishtey Cineplex with 344,000 viewers, Prime TV with 341,000 viewers and B4U Music with 326,000 viewers.

The bottom tier consisted of Rishtey with 299,000 viewers. It was up slightly on last week but still on the lower side. Geo TV was next with 266,000 viewers, PTC Punjabi with 198,000 viewers, PTV Global with 191,000 viewers, ATN Bangla with 144,000 viewers, Venus TV with 120,000 viewers, Akaal Channel with 117,000 viewers and A Plus Europe got just 44,000 viewers.
