The heavily marketed Asian drama ‘Desi Rascals’ lost over 20,000 viewers in its second outing on Friday.

According to exclusive data obtained by BizAsia, the show touted as the Asian ‘TOWIE’ raked in 65,200 viewers (including Sky Living +1) – down from its debut episode on Tuesday (20th January 2015), which pulled in 88,300 viewers (including Sky Living +1).

The repeat telecast of the launch episode of ‘Desi Rascals’ on Friday night at 19:00 registered 38,600 viewers (including Sky Living +1).

Sky has left no stone unturned to promote ‘Desi Rascals’ across its channels, including regular spots on Sky News, Sky1 and Sky Living itself. Interviews with cast members and producer, Gurinder Chadha have also featured on third party radio and television channels. It remains to be seen if ‘Desi Rascals’ picks up in the ratings in the coming weeks.
