The on-going developments in the Delhi gang rape story has resulted in viewers switching to Aaj Tak in the UK.

Data for week ending Sunday 30th December gave Aaj Tak its best ever ratings since it went free-to-air in the UK market on the Sky Digital platform. Its weekly reach stood at 411,000.

It beat the ratings of Pakistani news channel ARY News, which managed 397,000. However, Al Jazeera English continued to lead the Asian news genre in the UK with a whopping 1,037,000 tuning in.

Amongst the Hindi entertainment channels, Star Plus was the most watched channel with once again a huge ratings boost during the Christmas period. It had a weekly reach of 1,216,000 – one of the best ratings for the channel. It was followed next by UMP Movies with a huge 921,000 – again one of the best ratings for UMP Movies. In third was Rishtey with 719,000 and Star Gold was in fourth with 713,000.

The next tier saw Zing with 600,000 – one of the best ever ratings for the channel. Star Life Ok was next with 408,000. Sony SAB TV managed to pull of a ratings high with 387,000 during the festive week. Next was Sunrise TV with 384,000 and then Sahara One with 322,000.

9XM was at the bottom of the pile with 173,000.
