UK ratings: ARY News & UMP Movies surge ahead

ARY News delivered one of the biggest weekly reaches so far this year, plus UMP Movies witnessed a massive surge, according to exclusive data obtained by BizAsia.

ARY News added nearly 200,000 new viewers in latest official weekly reach data for week ending 1st November. The channel registered a reach of 619,000 viewers (up from 433,000 viewers last week). The channel remains the most watched South Asian news channel in the UK. Its closest Indian competitor ABP News could only attract one third of its audience. Geo News was the second most watched South Asian news channel with 400,000 viewers, followed by Geo Tez with 351,000 viewers, SAMAA TV with 249,000 viewers, ABP News with 242,000 viewers, Dunya TV with 224,000 viewers, Aaj Tak with 145,000 viewers, NDTV 24×7 with 140,000 viewers and News18 India with 53,000 viewers.

Star Plus remained the most watched Asian TV channel with 1,098,000 viewers (last week 1,087,000), followed by a resurgent UMP Movies with 837,000 viewers (last week 605,000 viewers), &TV with 761,000 viewers (last week 641,000 viewers), Rishtey with 681,000 viewers (last week 743,000 viewers) and Colors with 665,000 viewers (last week 655,000 viewers).

The next batch consisted of Zing with 586,000 viewers, Star Gold with 495,000 viewers, SAB TV with 482,000 viewers, Hum TV with 467,000 viewers and Life Ok with 450,000 viewers.

The bottom tier consisted of Geo TV with 248,000 viewers, PTC Punjabi with 229,000 viewers, PTV Global and Prime TV with 225,000 viewers, Venus TV with 204,000 viewers, Sikh Channel with 183,000 viewers, TV99 with 172,000 viewers, Akaal Channel with 144,000 viewers, Brit Asia TV with 136,000 viewers and DM Global with just 39,000 viewers.
