UK ratings: ABP News edges out Aaj Tak

It was fight between the Indian news channels in the latest round of UK Asian TV ratings by BARB after ABP News jumped ahead of Aaj Tak.

According to data from BARB for week ending Sunday 16th February, ABP News was the most Indian news channel with a weekly reach of 232,000 viewers, while the old favourite, Aaj Tak delivered 212,000 viewers – there was only 20,000 viewers separating the two channels. NDTV 24×7 was down from 144,000 viewers to 120,000 viewers. News18 India suffered yet another blow after it tumbled down from 64,000 viewers last week to just 37,000 viewers.

ARY News remained the leading Pakistani news channel with a weekly reach of 363,000 viewers, while Geo News was second with 311,000 viewers, SAMAA TV was next 151,000 viewers.

Star Plus continued to lead the Asian entertainment channels with 1,164,000 viewers – up from 1,121,000 viewers. UMP Movies was next with 786,000 viewers, Colors was next with 682,000 viewers, while sister channel Rishtey was just behind with 680,000 viewers. Zing was in fifth with an impressive 679,000 viewers – up from 644,000 viewers last week.

Sony SAB TV was in sixth place with 543,000 viewers, Star Gold was in seventh with 536,000 viewers, Lamhe was next with 506,000 viewers. Star Life Ok was at the bottom of the pile with 419,000 viewers.
