UK ratings: Aaj Tak touches highest weekly reach

Hindi news channel, Aaj Tak has managed to better its position in the UK after delivering the highest weekly reach in official data released by BARB.

Aaj Tak claimed victory in the ratings with 490,000 viewers tuning in to the channel for week ending Sunday 30th June. It was shows like ‘Saas Bahu Aur Betiyan’ (24,000 average), ‘Vishesh’ (17,000 average), ‘Movie Masala’ (16,000 average) and evening shows like ‘Center Stage’ (12,000 average) and ‘Headlines Tonight’ (15,000 average) that pushed the channel during this week. Weekend show ‘Scandal’ also did well with an average 25,000 viewers switching on.

Despite this, Al Jazeera English led the pack with 790,000 and ARY News in third place with 366,000.

Star Plus was the most watched Asian entertainment channel in the UK with 1,235,000 viewers, followed by Rishtey (846,000) and UMP Movies (777,000). Star Gold was in fourth place with 520,000 viewers, followed by Zing, which was next with 461,000 viewers.

The next tier saw Star Life Ok with 457,000 viewers, followed by Sony SAB TV with 415,000 and Sahara One’s final week garnering 309,000 viewers.
