Popular Bollywood music channel, 9XM has been steadily growing up the popularity chart and according to official weekly reach data released by BARB, it has crossed the 200,000 mark for the first time.
Data for week ending Sunday 9th December, 9XM attracted a reach of 201,000 – that’s an additional 83,000 compared to last week’s 118,000. The channel, which is available free-to-air on Sky Digital, has recently unveiled a new look with a slew of new shows commencing over the coming days. 9XM beat Sony SAB TV in the ratings, which managed 193,000.
In the top tier, Star Plus reigned the UK market with 1,160, while UMP Movies remained the second most watched Asian TV channel with 841,000. Rishtey was in third with 725,000. Star Gold was in fourth with 550,000. Star Life Ok performed well this time around with 532,000 and Zing was in sixth with 530,000.
The next tier saw Sunrise TV climbing back up with 400,000. UMP Stars was next with 255,000.
Al Jazeera English led the news genre with 848,000, while ARY News was next with 395,000. Aaj Tak was a distant third with 296,000.
