UK digital radio offers Ramadan space

MuxCo and UTV are offering Ramadan broadcasters the opportunity to broadcast on their local DAB Digital Radio multiplexes across the UK.

All prospective broadcasters need to do is to provide a signal of their service, have the relevant Ofcom licences and sign a short-term contract with MuxCo or UTV. The price to broadcast for a month is similar to FM RSLs – �2,000+VAT.

Matt Deegan from MuxCo said, ���Historically the main users of DAB have been traditional commercial and BBC radio stations, however we know from the conversations we have with smaller operators that they�۪re keen to use the large county-wide reach of DAB to make their stations go even further. We�۪re pleased that alongside UTV we�۪ve come up with an easy way to do just that�۝.

When asked whether this opportunity would be open to other RSL broadcasters Matt said ���We�۪re using Ramadan as a test, but are keen to provide similar opportunities across the year�۝.
