UK Asian Film Festival 2020 cancelled in light of coronavirus outbreak

Organisers of the UK Asian Film Festival have confirmed the cancellation of the event after the UK government advised against social gatherings in light of the coronavirus outbreak.

In a statement published via its social media, Tongues of Fire – the company behind the UK Asian Film Festival said, “In light of recent UK Government advice, that public venues should no longer be visited, the 22nd UK Asian Film Festival (all events nationwide) have been cancelled for the foreseeable future.

“Tongues on Fire will be contacting individuals who have already purchased tickets for this year’s programme to organise refunds.

“Information and advice regarding Coronavirus is changing quickly and it is important that you keep up to date with those changes.”

The festival featuring Hema Malini, Boney Kapoor, Ekta Kapoor and Konkona Sen Sharma, was expected to be held between 25th March and 5th April 2020.
