UK AMAs 2006 nominations announced

The annual UK Asian Music Awards (UK AMAs) are set to celebrate their fourth show at London’s Hammersmith Palais on Wednesday 6th December 2006.

This year sees eighteen categories including ‘Best Album’, ‘Best Single’ and ‘Best Act’. There are also three media categories as follow:

The Best UK Radio Station category includes Sunrise Radio, the BBC Asian Network, newcomer this year is the Midland’s hugely popular Sabras Radio, Club Asia and a surprise entry Yarr Radio, which recently underwent a makeover.

The Best UK Radio Show nomination list included Selena’s show from Choice FM, Sonia Deol’s Breakfast show on the BBC Asian Network, Bobby & Nihal’s midnight show on Radio One, Jas The Man’s Breakfast show on Club Asia, Panjabi Hit Squad’s 1Xtra show and Manga’s Urban music show on Galaxy.

The Best UK Publication list consisted of Asiana, Asian Woman, Des Pardes and Eastern Eye.

Winners will be selected on Wednesday 9th December.
