Twitter bans all election advertising

Twitter has announced a complete ban on political advertising globally.

In a message tweeted by Twitter CEO, Jack Dorsey, he said, “While internet advertising is incredibly powerful and very effective for commercial advertisers, that power brings significant risks to politics.”

Facebook will continue with its political advertising. Founder of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg said, “In a democracy, I don’t think it’s right for private companies to censor politicians or the news.”

The Twitter ban will come into force on 22nd November 2019.
