Twist emerges in ‘Raabta’- ‘Magadheera’ court case

With rumours rife over the concept of ‘Raabta’ being similar to the 2009 Telugu film ‘Magadheera’, the soon-to-release Dinesh Vijan film continues to remain in controversy.

With the makers of the latter taking the ‘Raabta’ team to court, an unexpected piece of information came up during the case. Apparently author SP Chari accused the ‘Magadheera’ makers of being influenced by his own book in the first place.

According to Pune Mirror, Chari’s novel tells the story of a couple who commit suicide in order to be together in another lifetime. Apparently much of the story resembles the novel titled ‘Chanderi’ (1998), with only slight changes to names and the way in which the villain is related to the male protagonist.

The report goes on to add, how Chari expressed his distress in not being recognised for his work when the film released.

With the case between the Telugu film and Vijan’s film, the report reveals the case will be tested on 6th June.

In the meantime, ‘Raabta’ which stars Kriti Sanon, Sushant Singh Rajput and Jim Sarbh is set for release on 9th June.
