“TV has far more reach than films,” says Mallika Sherawat

While many television stars have recently switched from the small screen to Bollywood, some Bollywood stars are being pulled into television. ��Actress Mallika Sherawat feels that television has a great reach to the audience and she is considering work in both the American and Indian television industries.

Speaking to��Absolute India about the Hollywood television industry, Sherawat said, “Just look at the kind of TV series that they are coming up with of late. ��Whether it is ‘House of Cards’, ‘Scandal’, ‘Homeland’ – they are all superb… ��All I can say for now is that I have made some foray in this direction; there is something new that is happening for me on a TV series. ��However, let us wait for a while before details start floating in.”

The actress is also open to working in Indian television. ��”I am extremely excited about doing TV in India. ��I feel that today, TV has far more reach than films,” she added.

Sherawat is currently busy promoting her upcoming film, ‘Dirty Politics’, which also stars Jackie Shroff, Om Puri, Naseeruddin Shah and Anupam Kher. ��The film, which was recently delayed, is now slated for release on 6th March.
