TV channels switch to US Gurdwara shooting

International news broadcasters have switched to rolling news coverage after it emerged that a mass shooting has taken place at a Gurdwara outside of Milwaukee in Wisconsin. It has created a hostage situation, according to local media.

In the UK, NDTV 24×7 was the first broadcaster to break the news but did not switch to coverage from the scene until 20 minutes after the news broke. CNN was the first mainstream news channel to show pictures from the shooting.

Aaj Tak and Fox News were next to follow. Sky News only ran the story around 19:00 as its top story. BBC News stuck to its Olympics coverage, with just a breaking news strap along the bottom of the screen. ABP News is shown with a large lag in the UK and thus was one of the last to cover the story.
