TV actor Ashish Kapoor arrested over rape allegations

Television actor Ashish Kapoor has been arrested by Delhi Police in Pune after a woman accused him of rape.

According to police officials, the complainant met Kapoor via social media and alleged that the assault occurred during a house party in Delhi in the second week of August. “In her complaint, she stated that Kapoor sexually assaulted her in a washroom,” an officer confirmed.

The FIR named Kapoor, his friend, the friend’s wife, and two unidentified individuals. However, the woman later amended her statement, asserting that Kapoor alone was responsible for the alleged rape. She further claimed that the incident had been recorded on video, although investigators have not recovered any such footage to date.

The investigation remains ongoing, with police continuing to examine evidence and statements related to the case.
