Tulip Siddiq apologises to Channel 4 News producer

Labour party MP Tulip Siddiq for Hampstead and Kilburn, has “unreservedly” apologised after a row broke out between her and Channel 4 News.

On Tuesday, Siddiq fell out with Channel 4 News reporter Alex Thomson, following, which she said to his pregnant producer, “Thanks Daisy for coming. Hope you have a great birth because child labour is hard.”

This led to Channel 4 News Editor, Ben de Pear, complaining to the Labour party about her comments. Since then, Siddiq has taken to Twitter to apologise. She said, “I want to apologise unreservedly for my comments to Channel 4’s producer, which were an offhand and ill-judged attempt to deal with what I felt was a hostile situation. I would never want to upset her and I hope she accepts my apology.”
