Tourism Ministry denies Aamir Khan removed as Incredible India

The Tourism Ministry in India has denied reports that Aamir Khan is being removed as brand ambassador of its Incredible India campaign.

There were reports earlier that comments made last month about how he and wife Kiran had considered moving out of India for a more tolerant atmosphere resulted in the exit of Khan from the campaign.

However, the news was denied via statement from the Ministry. It said, “In response to certain news reports appearing in the media about Shri Aamir Khan, the Ministry of Tourism clarifies that there is no change in the stand of the ministry in this matter. The Ministry further clarifies that at present it has a contractual agreement with a creative agency, Mc Cann Worldwide to produce social awareness campaign and the said campaign featured Shri Aamir Khan.”
