‘Total Dhamaal’ turns out to be Ajay Devgn’s biggest non-holiday opening

With the film exceeding all expectations in earning over Rs. 60 crore from its first four days of release, ‘Total Dhamaal’ has now emerged as Ajay Devgn’s biggest non-holiday opening.

With the initial promos receiving mixed reviews, trade analyst Taran Adarsh expressed how audiences went flocking to cinemas on word of mouth. “”#TotalDhamaal hits the ball out of the park… Swims past Rs 60 cr… Word of mouth came into play on Day 1 itself… Terrific in mass circuits… Big growth at metros/plexes [Day 2 and 3]… Fri 16.50 cr, Sat 20.40 cr, Sun 25.50 cr. Total: Rs 62.40 cr. India biz.”

He went on to express how though Devgn has had the likes of ‘Singham Returns’ (2014) and ‘Golmaal Again’ (2017) also had massive openings, these both release on holiday weekends where audience are more like to go to the theatres.

Looks like the whole ‘Total Dhamaal’ team have a lot to celebrate.
