Tom Alter’s ‘Andamans – Jewels of the Sea’ to air on Epic

The Epic Channel will be airing a film on the Andaman Islands that was anchored by the late Tom Alter. Titled ‘Andamans—Jewels of the Sea’, the film will will be aired as a TV series which Alter shot for six years ago.

Director-Producer Ganesh Shankar Raj told Mirror, “Besides the North and South Andamans, we also explored Ross Island, where the British has set up base to rule over the island, and travel through forests inhabited by the local tribes. Tom also went through every nook and cranny of the infamous Andaman jail and visited the famous Havelock and Neill Islands, which are a major tourist attraction, and the Radhanagar beach, considered one of the best beaches in the world. The film is a part of his legacy; the younger generation is also familiar with him. Besides, the Andamans is such a beautiful place but many Indians still ask if they need a passport to go there. So, we thought it would be the right time to educate youngsters about this island they must visit at least once in their lifetime. This project is also a tribute to Tom.”

Alter was also seen in Star Plus’s ‘Chakravyuh’ (2017-2018).
