Tina Daheley among highest paid Asian personality on BBC

Popular BBC Radio voice, Tina Daheley has been named as one of the most paid Asian personalities on the BBC during the 2019/20 period.

According to the BBC Annual Report, Daheley was paid £255,000 – £259,999 during the same period for news bulletins on the BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show, ‘Beyond Today’ podcast, BBC One News, ‘BBC Breakfast’ cover, 40 episodes of ‘The Cultural Frontline’ and cover for ‘Woman’s Hour’.

Former BBC Asian Network presenter, Nihal Arthanayake who moved to BBC Radio 5 Live was paid £155,000 – £159,999 for 190 editions of ‘5 Live Early Afternoon Show’ and 40 editions of ‘The Big Debate’ on BBC Asian Network.

BBC’s Editorial Director for news and current affairs, Kamal Ahmed was paid £205,000 – £209,999.

Other names mentioned in the list included Amol Rajan, Media Editor, was paid £205,000 – £209,999 for 40 episodes of ‘The Media Show’, cover on BBC Radio 2 and a number of BBC Television documentaries.

Former Sky News presenter, Faisal Islam, who joined the BBC as Economics Editor was paid £155,000 – £159,999.
