Times Now ropes in Ameesha Patel for ‘Selfie’ winner

India’s leading English news channel, Times Now recently announced the launch of a UK contest called ‘Selfie’, a collaboration with Bollywood actress, Ameesha Patel (pictured below).

The channel, which launched last year in the UK as a free-to-air service on Sky channel 576, is drumming up publicity to lure viewers. To create the excitement back in India, the channel planned an engagement programme at the media agencies in Mumbai and Delhi. Times Now had placed a royal guard at the entrances of the media agencies and all that the employees had to do was click a selfie with the guard and upload it on Twitter with hashtag #timesnowinuk or on Instagram.

The contest had more than 70 people participating in this contest and the best selfie with a caption were shortlisted and the final winner was picked up through a lucky draw. The winner will be given a free return ticket to London.
