Times Network confirms six staff members contracting coronavirus

Times Network has confirmed that six of its staff members have tested positive for coronavirus.

An official statement from the broadcaster said that four staff members from Mirror Now and two support staff members had “tested positive despite practising all safety measures and precautions.”

The statement from the broadcaster published by BestMediaInfo said, “Despite practising all safety measures and precautions while fulfilling their duties, four of our colleagues at Mirror Now and two support staff members have tested coronavirus positive. Following BMC (Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation) guidance, they have been shifted to the mandatory quarantine facility at a private hospital in Mumbai and are doing fine.”

Times Network said that other staff members had all been tested negative and continued to work in an alternative premises. The statement added, “Similarly, the operations of Mirror Now and ET Now have been shifted to an alternate location in Mumbai to ensure non-stop news coverage to our viewers, which was kept ready for an emergency scenario and managed by a fresh standby team.”

Concluding the statement, it said, “In spite of this mishap, the network will continue with the strategy of housing our teams in captive locations as we believe this is the safest option to ensure they don’t get infected by the virus.”
