TikTok ban lifted in Pakistan

TikTok has resumed normal service in Pakistan after a ten-day ban.

The Pakistani authorities said they had reversed the decision after gaining assurance from the Chinese-owned social media platform.

In a statement, Pakistan Telecommunication Authority said, “TikTok is being unlocked after assurance from management that they will block all accounts repeatedly involved in spreading obscenity and immorality.”

TikTok was banned in Pakistan on 9th October after it received complaints about carrying indecent content.

TikTok is among Pakistan’s most downloaded mobile apps, with 20 million users alone in the country.
