Tigmanshu Dhulia has decided to axe his much delayed project, ‘Milan Talkies’ that he was going to make with producer, Ekta Kapoor.
According to Mumbai Mirror, Dhulia will take the project forward without Kapoor and without the doomed title ‘Milan Talkies’, which has been in troubled waters since 2012. The publication adds that Dhulia will refresh the script, rope in new actors and revamp the film to bring it back alive.
In September 2012, the film was set to take off with Imran Khan and Priyanka Chopra but hit a stumbling block. Last May, it was renamed to ‘Bhoole Se Naam Na Lo Pyaar Ka’ and was going to bring back ‘Aashiqui 2’ duo Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor. They were then replaced with Imran Khan again but the makers decided against him after Khan’s ‘Katti Batti’ flopped at the box office. Kartik Aaryan was roped in earlier this year but he allegedly rejected the movie.
Dhulia’s spokesperson told Mumbai Mirror, “After two years of going back and forth with Ekta, Tigmanshu has decided to revamp the project, give it a new title and cast and launch it under his own banner.”
