Director Tigmanshu Dhulia says he had to cast a big star like Saif Ali Khan for his upcoming film ‘Bullett Raja’ as it requires a superstar to justify the budget and get the all important cash registers at the box office rolling.
Dhulia, who is more known for his choice on serious topics with films like Paan Singh Tomar’ (2010) and ‘Saheb Biwi and Gangster’ (2013), has decided to make a mass entertainer masala film this time round.
In a recent interview with PTI, he said,ʉWhen you are working on a high budget film, the pressure requires you to have an actor, who can pull that off at the box office. And I think only he (Khan) can justify that kind of budget. So, we had to get a star. Luckily, Saif was interested in this space. ‘Bullett Raja’ has all the aspects of a commercial film which you can enjoy in the theatre.
Sonakshi Sinha, who is the female lead, will be seen playing a Bengali character. The cast also includes Jimmy Shergill, Chunky Pandey, Ravi Kishan, Gulshan Groverand Vidyut Jamwal.
‘Bullett Raja’ is set to release on 29th November.
