Man of the moment Tiger Shroff will soon be beginning filming the sequel to Karan Johar۪s hit film, Student of the Year۪ (2012) and he understands the responsibility he has on his shoulders.
I love the first movie and all three of them (actors Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra) in it. It۪s a tough act to follow and I hope I don۪t let anyone down, says the 26-year-old, who last starred in A Flying Jatt۪ (2016).
According to Hindustan Times, the leading lady is yet to be announced for the anticipated sequel but rumours that have thrown into the mix include Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh۪s daughter Sara, Sridevi and Boney Kapoor۪s daughter Jhanvi and Amitabh Bachchan۪s granddaughter Navya Naveli. Shroff himself says he has no idea who it would be but one assumes she would have to be able to keep up with his dance moves.
Although Shroff is known for dance and action, the actor would like to try his hand at other genres too. He said, My fans expect a lot of out of me. This (dance and action) is why they have accepted me. This fascinates them. That being said, I۪ll give all that I have in my next two films, a side to me that hasn۪t been tapped as yet. After that I۪ll experiment with other genres.
In other news Shroff was asked about the possibility of working on a biopic of the greatest human being ever, Michael Jackson (possibly a biased remark) AKA the King of Pop. I۪d like to play him… the time when he was at his peak. I۪d like to play him on-stage, off-stage and even recording in the studio. He was an all round entertainer. Every kid, in every country, knows about Michael Jackson. No one has reached that (kind of) fandom and stardom, remarks Shroff.
A worthy candidate to throw his name (and single sequinned glove) into the hat? Time will tell.
