Tiger Shroff: “I have an identity of my own”

As any star kid, if they decided to follow in the footsteps of their elders, then being a comparison will be inevitable. However, many of the young stars of today would rather be seen differently to their parents, uncles and aunts, where they are determined to weave their own career path. One such young face is Tiger Shroff who wants to make it clear he is his own person rather than just Jackie Shroff’s son.

“My father and I are very different people with different personalities,” Hindustan Times reports the actor stating.

He went on to add, “I want to create my own legacy, my own space. The first time I ever performed on a show, the judges were Farah Khan and Anu Malik. They said ‘You should be Hrithik’s (Roshan) brother or Govinda’s son the way you dance’. But I have an identity of my own.”

Through public appearances and talk shows together, it is easy to see that senior Shroff is a very doting father. However, when it come’s to his son’s career, he decides to let him make his own way. “It does help having someone like him around but he has never involved himself in my career, not at all. He never does that nor ever will. But because I am his son, I think I got recognition from a very early age, that ‘He is Jackie’s son,” Junior Shroff expressed.

However, in their personal life they are a very tight nit, where they both share a large fan base. Talking about his father on a personal level Shroff went on to add, “The best feeling is when we go out for lunch, and the crowd doesn’t know where to go. To him or to me. It is either 50-50 or 60-40. Either way, it feels fantastic. I am so proud to be his son. My father is such a cool person. He has such goodwill. I don’t know one person who talks negatively about him.”
