Star Plus will be revamping its primetime schedule in January with three shows going off-air.

BizAsia can reveal that ‘Kuch To Hai Tere Mere Darmiyaan’ (Monday to Saturday at 20:30), ‘Sumit Sambhal Lega’ (Monday to Saturday 21:30 (UK) / 22:00 (India) and ‘Aaj Ki Raat Hai Zindagi’ (Sunday at 20:00) will all be bidding adieu to viewers to make way for three new shows.

Sources say that new Rashmi Sharma Telefilms’ new show ‘Silsila Hai Pyar Ka’ will take the 20:30 slot from first week of January 2016, while new court drama ‘Swadhinta’, produced by Fortune Productions will take the slot left vacant by sitcom ‘Sumit Sambhal Lega’ in mid-January.

Surprisingly, there was a lot riding on Ekta Kapoor’s ‘Kuch To Hai Tere Meri Darmiyaan’, which unlike other Balaji Telefilms shows, has not sparked any interest amongst viewers. ‘Silsila Hai Pyar Ka’ will be the fourth new show to be launched in the 20:30 in so many months by the channel after disappointing runs of ‘Nisha Aur Uske Cousins’ and ‘Badtameez Dil’. ‘Mahabharat’ has been the only show that proved a runaway success in ratings in the 20:30 time band.

It is yet to be confirmed what will replace ‘Aaj Ki Raat Hai Zindagi’ in the Sunday night slot.

Star TV will officially announce details in the coming days.
