Third instalment of ‘Fukrey’ franchise planned?

After the success of the recently released ‘Fukrey Returns’ (2017), news is already abound that a third instalment is planned. Producers Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani have apparently given the go-ahead for the next in the franchise.

The second instalment, which saw the return of Ali Fazal, Varun Sharma, Pulkit Samrat, Manjot Singh and Richa Chadha, was met with surprise success on its release last week. The quirky characters were well received in both films and are set to return in the next part too. “They will return to essay the same characters, with the same quirks. While there was a gap of four years between the first two installments, the third part is likely to hit screens by mid-2019” said sources as reported in Mid-Day.

Director Mrighdeep Singh Lamba has begun work on the script which is set to kick off where part two finished and may see Chadda’s character, Bholi Punjaban, become chief minister of Delhi.

Although no official announcement has been provided by the producers, the cast have blocked their dates for filming in 2018, so it looks like the audience will get to see the return of the well-loved characters.
