Theatre owners resume screenings of ‘Dilwale’

Since 20th December, just two days after its release, ‘Dilwale’ screening in some areas had been stopped due to heavy protests from��Bajrang Dal and VHP activists. However, theatre owners have now resumed screenings of the film.

The protests happened due to Shah Rukh Khan’s comments about religious intolerance. Police had offered adequate security against attacks by Hindu activists but the theatres were still unhappy with showing the film. However, the police department has now promised total security and the theatre owners have now backed down and are now going to resume showing the Rohit Shetty directorial.

Social activist��Vidya Dinker had filed a complaint against the protesting groups who had stopped the screening. However, she has now welcomed the new decision of resumption.

In other news, the film has joined the list of 10 biggest foreign grossers in 10 days.

‘Dilwale’ also stars Kajol, Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon.
