The Kareena-Priyanka ceasefire

Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra
Priyanka Chopra and Kareena Kapoor call a truce

Priyanka Chopra, it seems, is on a universal peacekeeping mission. After mending fences with Karan Johar, the next in line seems to be archrival Kareena Kapoor.

It is a well known fact that Kapoorand Choprahave never seen eye to eye. Their rivalry has covered pages and pages of glossies and reams of webspace, grabbing headlines all over the place. It all began when they shared screen space for Aitraaz۪ a remake of the Demi Moore-Michael Douglas starrer Disclosure۪ -which released way back in 2004. Kapoor, who was undoubtedly the bigger star back then, was non too pleased whenChopra walked away with all the hosannas for the film and vowed never to work withthe ex-Miss Worldagain. The situation worsened whenChopra started seeing Kapoor۪s ex Shahid Kapoor, and ever since neither of them have spared the opportunity to take digs at each other on chat shows and random public events.

However,Chopra seems to have cast aside her differences and went to visit director Madhur Bhandarkar on the sets of Heroine۪ earlier this week knowing full well that Kapoor would also be present.

“PC was there at Filmistan Studios to promote her film as part of an upcoming dance reality show on television when she realised Madhur was shooting for Heroine۪ next door. She immediately visited the sets to meet Madhur and Kareena. Madhur was extremely thrilled to see his Fashion۪ actress on the sets and even Kareena welcomed her with open arms. PC spent around 25 minutes on the sets and was seen having an animated conversation with both Madhur and Kareena, putting to rest rumours of differences between them,۝ said a source in an interview to Mumbai Mirror.

Bhandarkar on his part confirmed the news too. “It was very gracious of Priyanka to come and see us at the shoot. She was shooting nearby and came over. She was happy to meet many of the crew members as she had worked with them in Fashion۪ and stayed on for quite some time,” he said.

We aren۪t really sure whether all these white flags are Chopra۪s attempts at staying in the news, or just her PR machinery working overtime to plug Teri Meri Kahaani۪, but we۪re glad that she۪s letting bygones be bygones especially given the negative publicity that has surrounded her of late.
