‘The Apprentice’ winner Harpreet Kaur joins BBC Asian Network

The winner of ‘The Apprentice’ 2022, Harpreet Kaur, will join BBC Asian Network to present ‘The Everyday Hustle’.

Kaur will present the show on Mondays between 06:00 – 07:00 as current host Sonya Barlow steps down from the show. Sonya’s last episode will be aired on Monday 25th March, with Yorkshire-based Harpreet taking over the slot from Monday 15th April, following an Easter hiatus. ‘The Everyday Hustle’ will be produced in Birmingham and will continue its on-demand scheduling.

Harpreet Kaur says: “I’m delighted and grateful to be selected as the new host of ‘The Everyday Hustle’ on BBC Asian Network. I have always tuned into the station so this is a really exciting opportunity – I can’t wait to get stuck in and hopefully inspire listeners and help make their lives a little easier across all generations!”

Sonya Barlow says: “One thing I’ve learnt after interviewing over 120 people, is it’s important as the leader to know when to pass the baton. I’m stepping up to take my skills to the next stage. I’ve loved every single moment, failure, win and learning … so this is not a goodbye but a see you soon. Thanks to my team, colleagues, and listeners – without you, we wouldn’t have made such a difference in UK British Asian scene!”

Ahmed Hussain, Head of Asian Network, says: “I want to welcome Harpreet to Asian Network – she’s the perfect fit to take on the role and pick up the reins from Sonya. I also want to thank Sonya for her time on The Everyday Hustle, she’s been incredible since taking on the show.”
